Attijariwafa bank Egypt Records a New Achievement Receiving EMEA Finance Award for the Best Securitization Deal in Africa for the year 2022

Cairo, June 14, 2023: Attijariwafa bank Egypt won EMEA Finance Magazine award for the best securitization deal in Africa for the year 2022. EMEA Finance Magazine is considered one of the leading specialized financial magazines in covering the latest updates of the financial sector in Europe and the Middle East.

This recognition came in appreciation of the bank’s participation with 7 other banks in the successful closure of the largest securitization bond in the Egyptian market—El- Taameer Securitization Company 7th securitization issue with a value of EGP 20 billion and a portfolio owned by the New Urban Communities Authority.

Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Mouawia Essekelli, Managing Director of Attijariwafa bank Egypt stated, “We are pleased to have contributed to the closure of this bond, which supports the growth of new urban areas developments and the launch of the fourth-generation cities in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030”.

Worthy to mention is that the bank has a history of winning similar awards in the previous years. In 2023, the bank took part in three securitization bonds in favor of leasing companies. The bank participated in the securitization bonds of AUR Leasing and Factoring Company issued for EGP 790mn, Al- Tameer Leasing & Factoring Company (Oula) issued for EGP 1.1bn, and Enmaa Finance issued for EGP 759m.
